Pastor Dwayne Jones

WE’VE COME THIS FAR BY FAITH

Pastor Jones is the Senior Pastor at Mount (Mt.) Aaron Missionary Baptist Church.  Married to First Lady Sionette Jones and is the father of three children: Ashley, Leon, and Dwayne Jr.

As a retired Erie County Deputy Sheriff, he accepted the call to Pastor the congregation of Mt. Aaron Missionary Baptist Church (MAMBC), located at 540 Genesee Street, Buffalo, New York.  He also serves as Mt. Aaron’s Chief Executive Officer. “To God be the Glory.”

Pastor Jones was licensed and ordained by the Late Pastor Charles L. Ware of Friendship Baptist Church.

 

Pastor Jones earned an associate’s degree from Empire State College and a bachelor’s degree in divinity from Houghton. He is taking online courses at the University of New York, with a concentration in Economics, to further his knowledge and capabilities in grant writing. His advanced studies will culminate in writing grants to better local neighborhoods by creating additional housing and other projects promoting safe spaces to live and grow.

Under God’s anointing, Pastor Jones imparts words of inspiration and exhortation to the hearts and souls of God’s people. Truly blessed, he expanded his ministry, proving to be more than faithful to God’s people. The church’s membership quickly increased to 250 dedicated and loyal members.  As a result of the growing membership, it became necessary to expand the footprint of the sanctuary.  This progress is credited to faithfulness, goodness, and the grace of God.

In 2013, Pastor Jones co-developed Friendship Manor under the direction of Pastor Charles L. Ware. In 2015, Pastor Jones constructed Mt. Aaron Manor, a two-story, 10-unit apartment building costing $5.5M. In 2016, he oversaw the expansion of the Mt. Aaron sanctuary and fellowship hall. 2018; Pastor Jones established Community Hope Builders (CHB), Inc. The CHB was founded to develop safe, secure, and affordable housing in Buffalo and surrounding areas in Western NY.  As a property developer, Pastor Jones built the Mt. Aaron Village Apartments consisting of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom units for $26M, and the Mt. Aaron Village Townhouses comprised sixteen two and 3-bedroom units for $10.5M.  The Village provides private parking, a playground, and a Community Center.

Being vested in improving the community includes phase 2 of the Mt. Aaron Village, consisting of additional townhouses, apartments, a Roswell Park Comprehensive Center for Prostate Screening, and a satellite M&T bank facility.

Pastor Jones serves on numerous boards, organizations, and community groups, including the NAACP, the Forest Lawn Cemetery board, Roswell Comprehensive Cancer Center, Dorothy J. Collier Community Center, Friendship Manor (registered under the Attorney General as a Charity Bureau), Great Lakes Baptist Association, and is a lecturer at the National Baptist Christian Education of USA.

Pastor Jones annually provides over 1,000 bookbags to the church’s and surrounding community’s youth. He leads the Mt. Aaron congregation in feeding the homeless through the church’s outreach programs. Finally, he successfully set up and maintained an after-school tutoring program.
